Head Shop Substances
On-Site Training: Despite the legislation to ban substances sold in Head Shops, there are still hundreds of these drugs available on the internet and a constant stream of new chemicals which can be sold legally as drugs in Ireland are continuously being developed. This is a 1 day training workshop focusing on head shop substances and how to identify and adopt strategies to work with people who are under the influence.
This on-site training programme will cover the practical approaches to harm reduction and give a structured discourse on the pros and cons of harm reduction. “If a person is not willing to give up his or her drug use, we should assist them in reducing harm to himself or herself and others” (Bunning 1993).
‘Dual Diagnosis’ is the term used when a person suffers from both a drug and/or alcohol issue and a mental health issue. This programme sets out to deliver a clear overview of Dual Diagnosis/Disorders and its implications for treatment.
