Testimonials

"Liam has a fantastic instructional style which leads to people reaching levels that they never thought they could. He makes people want to get out there and better themselves, whether it be on the slopes, in the park or in the classroom. I used him for advanced snowsports instruction which was fantastic and my wife got language lessons from him. His ability to speak many languages is amazing. Something I wish I could accomplish. He is an allround great guy with a lot of real world experience and maturity for his age. I have no problem recommending him to anyone, as he will produce the results that he promises."

Damien O'Halloran, Mayo.

Learning Curve Camps AccommodationThe Snowboard & Ski Language Camps are a totally unique learning opportunity for students from all over the world to meet new friends through skiing or snowboarding whilst also becoming fluent in a foreign language. Research conducted by Braingym in the area of Educational Kinesiology proves that "learning can be vastly enhanced through movement" and with this concept in mind you can greatly improve your French or Spanish without it ever feeling like learning at all.

Students will be fully immersed in either French or Spanish for the duration of the camp and will receive daily ski and snowboard tuition from world class, fully qualified instructors through their target language. In the afternoon they will be guided around the mountain by The Irish National Snowboard Champion 2010, again all in the target language. The daily language lessons, which focus on developing all aspects of their language competency with specific emphasis on the Leaving Certificate curriculum, will give the students a clear upper hand as they approach their exams.

The ethos of the camps is "learning, safety and fun" with an emphasis being put equally on each of these three core aspects. Students will receive Snowsports instruction and guiding every day from fully qualified instructors and in the evenings there will be a 1 hour 45min language lesson centred around the Leaving Cert exams followed by activities and games in the luxury chalet in Venosc, which includes a pool table, sauna and jacuzzi. Trips to the local swimming pool and ice rink will also be part of the weekly programme.

The camps will be based on a Gaeltacht style model where students are fully immersed in either French or Spanish for the entire duration of the ski and snowboard language camp. This will ensure that they achieve maximum learning from the camp.

***The ski and snowboard language camps can also be offered to students wishing to learn English. Please contact The Learning Curve Institute directly for more information on learning English.***
