Siobhan Lynch

Lecturer in Mental Health Awareness

Siobhan has worked in both nursing and social care environments for over 22 years and has extensive knowledge in mental health and psychiatric nurse education. She is a registered general nurse and psychiatric nurse and has experience of psychiatric nursing and mental health work in a variety of settings in both the UK and Ireland. She gained a higher diploma in mental health nursing at Buckinghamshire College in Middlesex in 1996 and more recently a Masters Degree in Education from Trinity College in Dublin in 2001. Siobhan has a Bachelor degree in nursing studies and also a diploma in management which she utilised throughout her career.

Siobhan has worked in St Brendan’s School of Psychiatric Nursing in Grangegorman and following the assimilation of nursing courses into the Irish third level sector, she has lectured in two higher education institutions including Trinity College and the Institute of Technology. She has made numerous poster presentations at national nursing conferences. During the course of her teaching career she has also mentored students and developed teaching materials and devised courses from level 6 to level 8. She is also an instructor in Non-violent Physical Crisis Intervention (CPI).
