This programme is aimed at people who wish to work in the catering industry in an English speaking country or at those people already working in hospitality in an English speaking country and who wish to improve their fluency and understanding. It covers all aspects of the English language needed to work in hotels, bars, restaurants and other customer service based companies. The workshop is highly interactive and participants will be given the opportunity to practise the English they have learnt in a series of roleplays and scenarios typical to the catering industry in English speaking countries.

1 Day Workshop. 9:30am - 4:30pm.

Programme Aims
The objective of the one day workshop in English for The Catering Industry is to give students the English language tools to enable them to work efficiently and effectively in the hospitality sector in any English speaking country.
Programme Content
English phrases and terminology specific to the catering industry. Basic English grammar. Roleplays and scenarios relating to the hospitality sector in English speaking countries. English culture and customs. Brief introduction to English food and wine.
Learning Outcomes
1. To equip participants with the English language tools to work in the catering industry in a English speaking country. 2. To give students an introduction to English food and wine. 3. To enhance confidence in participants use of English, both spoken and written. 4. To enable students to use basic English grammar in conversations and written pieces. 5. To develop participants understanding of English culture and customs.

Assessment
Assessment will be carried out through continuous assessment of roleplays and exercises.
